ABOUT ME
As a therapist, my hope is to create a space that feels welcoming to your authentic self. I want you to be able to enter our sessions with a sigh of relief, knowing there is no pressure for you to show up in any way other than yourself. I aim to hold space for you to show up as you need to that day, and will honor what you need in each session whether that is a space to vent, explore new skills, be challenged, or create goals that will meet your needs. I will honor going at your own pace as every person is different; and I will be there with encouragement, opportunity, and invitations to align with the person you’re wanting to become. If you are struggling with emotional avoidance, negative self talk, or wanting to become a better version of yourself and are unsure of how to make that happen, I encourage you to reach out. I would love to provide a safe and supportive space where we can explore those things together and discover a new approach.
I specialize in recovery work regarding eating disorders, substance use, and/or self-harm and suicidality, college students & young adults, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I additionally support those experiencing anxiety, depression, impacts from relational trauma, identity development, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is often a mix of CBT, DBT, IFS techniques, goal setting, and more than anything getting to know you better as your whole self so we can achieve the change and support you are hoping for. Additionally, I practice through a trauma-informed lens and hold the belief that the client is the expert of their experiences.
Therapy can feel scary and inaccessible, so it’s important to me to help clients feel they are connecting with a real person on the other side of the room. My clients often describe me as understanding, humorous, authentic, and direct.
