At Emerald Moon Counseling, our intake sessions are dedicated to creating a safe and understanding space for clients. During individual intakes, the goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of each client's unique experiences and needs. You will explore personal history and establish desired goals you as a client wants from therapy.

For couples seeking therapy, the intake process involves a 60-minute session with both partners to explore the history of their relationship. After the intake session with both partners, each partner will meet with the clinician for an individual session to delve into their personal histories, perspectives, and goals for the relationship. Following these individual meetings, sessions will resume with both partners present to work on enhancing the relationship together. For virtual therapy, partners should be in the same physical room during the session.
